OLD TREE

Not sure if this fine specimen is as old as yesterdays pub but the gnarly windswept tree does look pretty ancient - as well as a bit spooky!
Colethrop was its location.

YE OLDE BLACK BEAR

The pub that has the honour of being the oldest in Gloucestershire, is this one - "Ye Olde Black Bear" in Tewkesbury.
We're going as far back as the 1300's here!

BARRELS IN BIRDLIP

The Royal George Hotel in Birdlip came up with a rather novel way to recycle their old beer barrels - they transformed them into seats!

FARM FOOD AT BIRDWOOD

I'd say that this sign in Birdwood is a lot more endearing than one for Tesco.
Along with the fresh farm food on offer, I'd like to think that there may have been cider in the keg for passers-by to have a free sample!

CHURCH CLOCKS

When I was cycling passed the church in Great Witcombe, I couldn't help notice that the tower had two different styled timepieces.
The one on the left was your normal clock face type but the other one was a sundial dated 1752.
Historical that it is, it still begs the question - "How did they know when it was time for Midnight Mass?"

OLD GYPSY CARAVAN

This old gypsy caravan was parked near Norton, and judging by the amount of milk they had delivered - they sure did like their cornflakes!

GLASSHOUSE

Glasshouse is the name of a cosy hamlet tucked away close to May Hill.
The Glasshouse is also the name of its pub.
The prominent topiary feature at this location however, got me thinking that it may be time for a name change - from Glasshouse to Greenhouse!
