I can remember that I took this picture on the outskirts of Gloucester in the mid 90's but I can't recall if it was in spring or autumn so I'm not sure if the upright growths on the tree branches are leaf buds or seed pods, but I thought it was quite unusual to see them all lined up in such an orderly manner looking like soldiers on parade!
