The carnivals in Gloucester park always go out with a bang when it's time for the amusements and entertainment to depart, and the examples above date from around the late 90's.
The structure that looks like a lighthouse was one of the props brought in by the "Walk The Plank" firework display team, a crew who have since gone on to become rather well known.
So basically, the top picture is the prop during the day before the fireworks commenced, and the photo under it is the structure ablaze at night with the pyrotechnics in full flow.
Lastly, one of the many side acts performing around the park was the one I captured in the bottom picture, a local (I think) Brazilian drumming outfit who were supplying some hot batucada action on the night!
